Business Development Sales Specialist

Buyouts Insider, a division of Argosy Group, is not just the preeminent media business in PE/VC, we are also a true value-adding capital raising organization, used by senior level PE and VC firms to raise billions of dollars!  We are currently seeking a dynamic and driven sales specialist to assist in growing our market-leading conference business.  This position will help grow the executive meeting program that brings private equity and venture capital fund managers together with institutional investors. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing contact with senior level private equity fund managers and partners
  • Explaining the executive meetings program offered at our events
  • Securing meetings for the Business Development Director
  • Assisting with researching for customers prospects and qualifying leads
  • Working with clients to ensure they maximize the benefits afforded them in their conference packages, and ‘upselling’ them to higher level packages wherever possible

We are seeking candidates who are:

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and have the ability to achieve both individual and team goals;
  • Great at detailed tasks, well-organized, and able to work well alone and within a team environment;
  • Customer-focused every step of the way; you will be dealing with high finance decision makers who are demanding in every way – you need to be adroit at always handling them in a professional, courteous manner while driving to get to your goals
  • Eager to get on the phone every day and talk to our customers; you’ll be expected to make 40-50 calls daily to achieve your goals
  • Excellent in verbal & written communication skills
  • Confident, mature and professional enough to build strong relationships with senior level clients over the phone and in person

Experience preferred:

  • Three to five years in the financial services industry and knowledge of the Private Equity/Venture Capital industry
  • Experience in alternative asset fund raising at a Placement Agency is ideal;
  • Candidates will be willing to travel roughly 5-10% of the time both within in outside the U.S. to attend PartnerConnect and industry conferences. 
  • Computer proficiency is essential; knowledge of CRM systems (e.g. SalesForce) preferred; Excel proficiency helpful
