Business Development Manager (Sponsorships)

Buyouts Insider, the leading source of trusted information and community for Private Equity and Venture Capital professionals since 1961, is seeking a Business Development Manager.  In this role, you will sell Sponsorship across the popular Partner Connect conference series and integrated Corporate Partnerships across its suite of media products including soon to be launched Membership platform.  

Job Summary:

As Business Development Manager, you will secure sponsorships commitments for events and integrated Corporate Partnerships across a suite of media products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Account manage an established group of General Partner (GP) Clients and oversee their annual and ad-hoc spend.
  • Utilizing a consultative approach, you will create and engage in new business opportunities, in order to expand the value proposition for our client base.
  • Consistently canvass and prospect C Level GP Executives for new sponsorship’s and wider partnerships.
  • Establish credible relationships with potential corporate partners and become a Brand ambassador for Buyouts Insider
  • Maintain a clear working relationship with GP’s and service provider sales team to ensure all group targets are met
  • Partner with the Lead Partner (LP) investor relations team to strategize how best our GP clients can work with fund Investors
  • Collaborate with the service teams regularly to ensure sponsor satisfaction in and around the building on deliverables according to contract and growing clients into larger programs.
  • Prepare contractual agreements for sponsors in accordance with company policy/process.
  • Maintain CRM system to manage your accounts and track sales
  • Assist services teams in assessing renewals, developing proposed renewal plans or expansion of sponsorship or alternate plans for category (if sponsorship not renewed).
  • Support the Membership Director on strategy and promoting the business mission
  • Achieve and exceed individual, integrated revenue targets with a focus towards event sponsorship. 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Work with Editorial and conference Production teams to ensure bespoke, differential and budgeted activity success.

  • Strong selling skills utilizing a consultative sales style.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Numbers orientated and Entrepreneurial.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree plus
  • 5+ years C-Suite sales experience.
  • 5+ years B2B experience selling information or events business.
  • Financial Services or alternative Finance New Business Development sales desirable.
  • Experience working within a CRM system such as Salesforce a plus.
