Research Associate (Private Equity)

If so, you may be a great candidate for our Research Associate (Private Equity) position.

We are Buyouts Insider a division of Simplify Compliance, a financial services-focused publisher with some of the strongest brands in their respective niches, covering private equity/venture capital, investment advisory compliance, and credit unions.  Our Buyouts Insider division is not just the preeminent media business in PE/VC, we are also a true value-adding capital raising organization, used by senior level PE and VC firms to raise billions of dollars. We have hosted 10,000 cap-intro meetings over the past 7 years.

Buyouts Insider is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to help us streamline our vast quantities of proprietary data on the institutional investor community. This position will help grow our conference, sales, marketing and editorial operations, as all aspects of our growing company need up-to-date information, and knowledge about new industry participants in the PE and VC communities.

You will work closely with our award-winning conferences and editorial teams, as part of a fun-loving company that’s been growing the last several years at 30%-40% per year (actually, this year we did even better than that.)

Your duties will range from scouring the internet for new lists of investors; to calling them to discover more about their appetite to invest in the asset class; to inviting them to speak at events; to imputing their details into our customized CRM.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing contact with senior level private equity and VC investors;
  • Explaining our PartnerConnect conferences, and asking them to attend and speak;
  • Helping to manage and maintain our growing database;
  • Researching new investors who could become part of our network;
  • Creating reports and studies out of our data which feed our editorial team’s data-journalism objectives

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and have the ability to achieve both individual and team targets;
  • Great at detailed tasks, well-organized, and able to work well alone and within a small-company, team environment;
  • Customer-focused every step of the way; you will be dealing with high finance decision makers who are demanding– you need to be adroit at always handling them in a professional, courteous manner while driving to get to your goals;
  • Eager to get on the phone every day and talk to our network;
  • Excellent in verbal & written communication skills;
  • Confident, mature and professional enough to build strong relationships with senior level clients over the phone and in person. 

Experience Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services industry
  • Knowledge of Private Equity/Venture capital a plus
  • Computer Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and required
  • 1 to 2 years’ hands on experience maintaining and analyzing databases preferred
